ಕಂಡೂ ಕಾಣದ ಗುರಿ.
ನಡೆದೆ ನಡೆದೆ ನಡೆದೆ
ಕಲ್ಲು ಮುಳ್ಳುಗಳ
ಹಾದಿಯ ದಾಟಿ.
ಒಂದೊಂದು ಗೆಲುವು,
ಒಂದೊಂದು ಸೋಲು.
ಸೋತರೂ, ಗೆದ್ದರೂ
ದಿಗಂತವ ಮುಟ್ಟಿಲ್ಲ.
ಮತ್ತಷ್ಟು ನಡೆದೆ.
ನಡೆದಷ್ಟು ಮುಗಿಯದ ಕೇರಿ.
ನಿಲ್ಲಬೇಕೆಂಬ
ಆಸೆ ಇಲ್ಲದ ನದಿಯಂತೆ ಓಡಿದೆ
ಧಣಿವ ಜೊತೆಗೂ.
ಥತ್! ಎಡವಿದೆ!
ಏನಾಯಿತೆಂದು ಹಿಂದಿರುಗಿದರೆ,
'ನಿಧಾನಿಸೆ ಹುಡುಗಿ'
ಎಂಬಂತೆ ಒಂದು ಕಲ್ಲು.
ಕುಳಿತೆ
ಬಂದ ದಾರಿಯನ್ನೆ ದಿಟ್ಟಿಸುತ.
ಸಾಗಿ ಬಂದಷ್ಟು ದೂರ
ನೆನಪುಗಳ ಹೊತ್ತು ತಂದಿದ್ದೆ;
ನನ್ನ ಗೆಲುವು ಎಂಬಂತೆ,
ಬಾಯರಿದ ಮನಕ್ಕೆ ಅಮೃತದಂತೆ!
ನಡೆಯಲೆದ್ದು ನಿಂತೆ
ಮತ್ತದೆ ಮುಗ್ಧ ಉತ್ಸಾಹದೊಂದಿಗೆ.
ನಡೆದೆ, ನಡೆದೆ, ನಡೆದೆ..
ಸೋಲು ಗೆಲುವಿನ ಜೊತೆಗೆ
ನಡೆಯುತಲೇ ಇರುವೆ
ನಿಂತಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಲ್ಲದೆ
ಅನಂತವಾಗಿ.
ನಡೆದೆ ನಡೆದೆ ನಡೆದೆ

ನಿಲ್ಲಬೇಕೆಂಬ
